Chapman University’s Institute for the Study of Religion, Economics and Society (IRES) invites applications for postdoctoral and predoctoral fellowships in the economics of religion to start Fall 2016 and continue for up to two years. We aim to support highly promising young scholars doing research that links the study of religion to economics, political science, or sociology. Candidates selected will conduct research in at least one of these fields while at Chapman. They will also be expected to attend seminars, give at least one talk on their research, and assist with other IRES activities.
Eligible candidates for the postdoctoral position will have completed their Ph.D. between August 1, 2013 and August 1, 2016. Eligible candidates for the predoctoral position will be currently enrolled in a doctoral program and have advanced to Ph.D. candidacy. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of the applicant’s previous accomplishments, the promise of the proposed research project, and the likelihood that the project will be enhanced by being carried out at IRES.
Applications should include a Cover Letter, CV, Research Paper and one Letter of Recommendation. To submit your materials, please send them to: ires@chapman.edu. Deadline for receipt of all materials is January 15, 2016.
