The Religion and Public Life Program (RPLP) at Rice University is offering one postdoctoral fellowship that is two years in length that will begin on July 1, 2019. The fellow will be housed in the Religion and Public Life Program in the Department of Sociology in the School of Social Sciences. The Global Religion Research Initiative of Notre Dame’s Center for the Study of Religion and Society

The Center for the Study of Religion and Society in the Department of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame is pleased to announce the launch of the Global Religion Research Initiative (GRRI), directed by Christian Smith and funded by the Templeton Religion Trust of Nassau, Bahamas.  The GRRI will fund over 150 research proposals by distributing $3.1 million to scholars of global religion over the next three years.

Chapman University’s Institute for the Study of Religion, Economics and Society (IRES) invites applications for postdoctoral and predoctoral fellowships in the economics of religion to start Fall 2016 and continue for up to two years. We aim to support highly promising young scholars doing research that links the study of religion to economics, political science, or sociology. Candidates selected will conduct research in at least one of these fields while at Chapman. Young Scholars in American Religion Program – Call for Applications

The Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture at IUPUI announces a program for early career scholars in American Religion. Beginning in 2016, a series of seminars devoted to the enhancement of teaching and research for younger scholars in American Religion will be offered in Indianapolis. The aims of all sessions of the program are to develop ideas and methods of instruction in a supportive workshop environment, stimulate scholarly research and writing, and create a community of scholars that will continue into the future.

The Center on Religion and Chinese Society (CRCS) at Purdue is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for Quantitative Analysis to start in January 2016. The Postdoctoral Fellow’s primary responsibility will be quantitative analysis of survey data, writing reports, and preparing manuscripts. The position requires proficiency in statistical analysis software packages such as STATA and SPSS; ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with others; and willingness to travel for fieldwork research and presenting at professional conferences.
