Visiting Faculty Position – Davidson College

DAVIDSON COLLEGE, a highly-selective, nationally-ranked, residential, four-year liberal arts college located 20 minutes north of Charlotte, North Carolina, invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant position in Sociology starting August 1, 2014.

The successful candidate will teach five courses (two Fall, three Spring), including one ethnographic research methods course (Fall), one contemporary sociological theory course (Spring), and three other courses in areas of the applicant¹s expertise. Includes mentoring senior thesis projects. New courses and potential contributions to Davidson College’s interdisciplinary programs will also be viewed favorably. Call for Papers: Fifth International Conference on Religion and Spirituality in Society

Proposals for paper presentations, workshops, posters or colloquia are invited for the Fifth International Conference on Religion and Spirituality in Society being held at the University of California at Berkely in Berkeley, USA from 16-17 April. We welcome proposals from a variety of disciplines and perspectives that will contribute to the conference discourse. We also encourage faculty and research students to submit joint proposals for paper presentations or colloquia.

Proposals are invited that address issues of religion, theology and spirituality through one of the following categories:

Theme 1: Religious Foundations
Theme 2: Religious Community and Socialization
Theme 3: Religious Commonalities and Differences
Theme 4: The Politics of Religion
